This album features a diverse selection of talented local/international artists who perform their songs with powerful and invigorating energy. The entire album is compiled of rap vocals, and each rapper exhibits their easy-flowing rhymes. The track titled "Move It," by Ra-man Ft Miki, features a smooth rapping style. Original and artistic use of synth and percussive sounds are heard on each track while the piano on "Lonely Dayz" has a sort of mysterious feel. RadioIndy is pleased to present MC Comeczechmi with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Cold War Continues"

If you're looking for some hip-hop/rap with a new comical twist, then the debut album "The Cold War Continues," by MC Comeczechmi, is just what you need. As a native of Russia and then moving to America as a child, MC Comeczechmi found the gift of music through rhymes. He has taken his rhymes and rhythms and compiled a collection of humorous tunes with bouncy, grooving beats. His wordplay is made of broken English, and it works, making the entertaining lyrics give this album a new spin on rap. Fast and furious are just two words describing the amusing tune "Get Raw (Drink, Drink)." Turn the tables of time and you're back in the Old Russian country with the song "Da Old Country" featuring the sound of the accordion. MC Comeczechmi's "The Cold War Continues" is a great album to hear, especially if you're in the mood for rap/hip-hop with fun beats and lyrics.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jenuine J.A. with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Burden of Proof"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Jenuine J.A. with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Burden of Proof"

Jenuine J.A.'s latest rap record "The Burden of Proof" is a great throwback to the early sounds of that genre. Jenuine isn't exactly a hip-hop artist as his songs rely more on his lyrics and the instrumentation than just beats. The opening track, "Dyin' to Floss" says it all, as you can hear how Jenuine wants his words to be heard and not lost under a sea of electronic drums. His struggle to be heard is evident throughout the disc as he lets listeners in on his personal hurdles in becoming a successful rap star. Just listen to "What's Your Plan?" and you will feel what he has gone through. The title of "The (Lost) Art of Storytellin'" is a truthful statement about where most rap songs are at today. They rely more on abusive lyrics, instead of just telling a story. If you want to hear rap music the way it should be done, you won't be disappointed when you hear "The Burden of Proof."

RadioIndy is pleased to present Gnos-tel-jah with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Becoming"

Hip-Hop takes a strange trip with Gnos-Tel-Jah and their latest album of original (and we mean original) material on "Becoming." Comprised of 2 male vocalists and 1 female vocalist, Gnos-Tel-Jah offers up a psychedelic ride of Hip-Hop fused with rock and spoken word. "Midnight Swang" represents the rap side to their debut disc with easy flowing rhymes and is reminiscent of the group Outkast. When you break it all down, Rap/Hip-Hop is basically spoken words with beats underlying the phrases. The band shows their love for this genre with 13 "chapters" which are 13 separate spoken tracks. Any fan of Outkast, Gnarls Barkley, or of spoken word will thoroughly enjoy "Becoming" as it is a new and innovating CD.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Solomon Starr with a GrIndie Award for the CD"The Birth of Tragedy (Remastered)"

Solo artist Solomon Starr's latest album "The Birth of Tragedy (Remastered)" delivers an insightful musical approach using rap and spiritual styles. Starr is able to share his musical gift through his words of spiritual wisdom. His lyrics are insightful as he delves into his past and raps of troubled times and finding your way back through the Christian way. "Cosmic Struggle" has nice horn sounds that create a snake charmer effect. In the title track "The Birth of Tragedy," the sound of the violin is sad and sorrowful, as are the lyrics. The album displays energetic rap vocals with sincere projection and the accompanying instruments compliment the emotive lyrics. RadioIndy is pleased to present Billie G. Evans Jr. with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Bugleblack 1"

Billie G. Evans Jr. serves up an outstanding collection of Hip-Hop/Jazz singles on his recent release "Bugleblack 1." Evans has found an interesting concept in mixing two genres while producing them onto one album. Electric piano and trumpet intermingle in the melodic jazz passages on "Goin' Home," while drums keep the solid beat grooving. Rap vocals are smooth and deliver clean articulation. "Lookin' Out" is a great example of fresh rhyming rap and the piano has colorful chord hits with a bouncy beat. Listeners will enjoy the flow of each song as the trumpet plays subtle riffs or harmonious melodies that enhance the energy of the music. Fans of musical groups Miles Davis or Bill Withers should listen to "Bugleblack 1," as it is well worth hearing.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Various Artists with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Bluff Rock Entertainment Presents: "The Black House""

Bluff Rock Entertainment Presents: "The Black House" is a CD by various artists hosted by the progressive hip-hop label. The male and female musicians who have compiled this album voice their inspirations of hip-hop with clever lyrical rhymes, tantalizing beats, and tight rhythms. Patriotic Poetry, as heard on "The Value of an American Dollar" speaks of emotional times in America and is also a spoken solo vocal track with no instrumentation. The rhythmic vocals with backing beats are fresh and original and display inventive lyrics. Progressive synths and drum machines really build up the genre, creating an upbeat tempo with a variety of instruments. In a creative production venture. the incorporation of the using the music from the band Cutting Crew and their song (I Just) "Died In your Arms Tonight" as an intro to "So Additive" is innovative as the beat of this song keeps going as a lyrical Rap is heard above the looped strings which are predominant to this song. You will want to take a listen to the CD "The Black House" especially if you like the musical styles of Jay Z or Lil' Wayne.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Mirrico with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Grown Woman's Business"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Mirrico with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Grown Woman's Business"

"Grown Woman's Business" is the debut album from female hip hop/ R&B artist Mirrico. The first thing listeners will notice about Mirrico is the sheer power in her vocal delivery. Her lyrical content is hard and she doesn't back down in any way whatsoever. In other words, this album is intense and features street credibility that you don't often see from a female hip hop artist. The sequences behind her voice compliment nicely. Her sound features classic hip hop elements mixed with a little techno and gangsta rap. It's a great combination that will, without a doubt, get the blood pumping. The production value is also very good and these songs are radio ready. Highlights are "The Way It Is," which has a sneaky intro that makes way into a great hook and powerful vocal performance that pushes the words into your ears and out of your mouth, and "Alligators." "Alligators" has a huge beat, big sound, and is headed straight for the clubs. Be sure to check out the remix as well. "Dip It Low" exudes sexuality with a nice groove and seductively blunt lyrics. If you enjoy talented, controversial hip hop, be sure to check out "Grown Woman's Business."
